MEETING OF THE EUSDR PACs IN SOFIA, BULGARIA

The meeting of the EUSDR PACs was organized on February 1st, 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In October 2017, Bulgaria officially took over the presidency of the Danube Strategy for a period of one year. Also, on January 1st, 2018 Bulgaria took over the rotating Presidency of the Council of the EU (https://eu2018bg.bg).

The goals of the meeting were discussion on the implementation of the Danube Strategy and the revision of Action Plan in that respect. Representatives of all 14 Member States of the EUSDR,the European Commission, the Danube Transnational Program and stakeholders attended the meeting chaired by Ms Denitsa Nikolova (Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, National Coordinator of the Danube Strategy). The EUSDR PACs presented their activities and challenges in implementing priorities of the Strategy, shared different experiences on funding and project generation and explored possibilities for the future. Bulgarian Presidency of the EUSDR informed participants on the structure of panels and parallel thematic session of the next EUSDR Annual Forum which will be held on October 18-19, 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

PA7 coordinators (Ms Lubica Pitlova and Mr Viktor Nedović) and representatives of the support team attended the meeting and had active role in the relevant discussion points.
