ERA Fellowships Programme launched by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research

As part of the national strategy for the European Research Area (ERA), Germany is expanding its collaboration with the EU13 member states. Against this background, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research has launched the “ERA Fellowships” programme. The programme aims at building up capacities of key actors in the field of science management from EU13 science organisations. The objective is also to strengthen networking and cooperation between research organisations, research funding organisations and higher education institutions in Germany and the partner countries.

The following countries are addressed: Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Applications for participation in the ERA Fellowships programme can already be submitted. The call deadline will be on 29 February 2016.
The German host organization is to submit the proposal. Please refer to the website for further information.

You can find all relevant information at http://www.era-fellowships.de/en/index.php in English language and at http://www.era-fellowships.de/index.php in German language.

There are two parts of the programme:

Guest stay: During a guest stay at a German science organisation or higher education institution, the EU13 fellows gather practical experience in science management. They will get in-depth insights and exchange views on scientific management procedures and processes on an expert level. Before a fellowship begins, a structured training concept will be agreed with the German host institution.

Campus weeks: In addition to the guest stay at a host organisation, the ERA Fellowships programme features a theoretical part. An attractive programme awaits the participants on campus: Structured in “thematic days” on, inter alia, knowledge transfer, EU research funding, or internationalization, the campus weeks will provide opportunities for learning, the exchange of experiences and intensive networking. German experts will lead discussions and study trips. The weeks on campus are part of the programme, so participation is obligatory for the EU13 fellows. Colleagues from the German host organisations are welcome to participate in the activities subject to the availability of seats.

If you have any questions related to the programme, please refer to the service section of the website at http://www.era-fellowships.de/en/ansprechpartner.php
